Yes. You read that right. The Minecraft Earth closed beta won’t be expanding to any more cities.
One week ago, right after Mexico City was announced as the 5th city to get Minecraft Earth, a Mojang staff member on the official Discord Server posted, “we now have our 5 cities for the closed beta”.
This means that there will be no more cities added into the closed beta, which is currently planned to finish at the end of summer.
It’s bad news for everyone, both Android and IOS players alike, because this also means that when the closed beta finally does come to Android, only players in those 5 cities will get to play.
For the rest of us, it looks as though we’re just going to have to wait for the beta to end. An exact date for when that will be still hasn’t been announced.
It’s not all doom and gloom, however. The Minecraft Earth android beta is rumoured to be nearing release. Apparently, only a few bugs remain before it’s ready to be tested in open beta!
So what do you think of the news? Are you disappointed, or happy that Mojang is taking the time they need to make us the best game possible? Tell us in the comments below!
