Minecraft Earth was released worldwide on both IOS and Android devices at the start of 2020. It’s available to download directly from the Google Play Store or the App Store if you’re running an Apple device.
However, for some people it’s possible that you’re not able to download Minecraft Earth for some reason or another.
Commonly you won’t be a be able to download Minecraft Earth because your device is incompatible. If your device is an iPhone 6 or older, or running Android version 7 or less then your device isn’t compatible with Minecraft Earth.
It’s not great news, but fortunately there are some things you can try.
Minecraft Android Download
The first thing you’ll need to do is find out why your device is incompatible with Minecraft Earth. Most of the time phones are running outdated Android versions, or they don’t support AR applications.

Simply put, it’s possible to download Minecraft Earth from an alternative app vendor, such as APKMirror. Download the latest Minecraft Earth APK and install it and you’ll be good to go!
If your Android version is outdated then you can go into your phones settings and check for updates. Sometimes very old phones won’t be able to run the latest Android versions. In this case you can search google for how to update your specific phone to the latest version of android.

Unfortunately not all iOS devices are compatible with Minecraft Earth. Check the list below for all the iPhones which are capable of running the game.

Unfortunately if your phone is not listed above then it isn’t compatible with Minecraft Earth. Because Apple is very strict with security, there’s no way that you can modify your phone to be able to run the game.
However, if you have an iPad you might be in luck. Below is a list of all compatible iPads with Minecraft Earth.
- iPad Pro (all models)
- iPad Air (3rd generation)
- iPad (5th generation or later)
- iPad mini (5th generation)
If your device is listed above, but you still cannot download Minecraft Earth then the issue is likely to be that you’re not running the latest version of iOS. To update your iOS version, head over to your device settings and check for updates.
Finally, check that your device has enough storage space left for Minecraft Earth. It’s recommended that you have at least 1GB of free space.
